DF's NUPTIALS

Attended my mgr's wedding dinner at Grand Corpthorne Waterfront, (yea, the one beside Zouk) last wed evening b4 i flew off for my trip n after a hectic day of work.

Yea tat's him, the big guy in the center who is better known as da niu. Haa...



The wedding was light-hearted and funny.. all thnx to the gilb tongue of the emcee, who was our ex-mgr and a buddy of the bridegroom since sec sch. N the bridegroom himself contributed alot of jokes, many of which r dirty ones of cos. Haa.. Together they made the whole event seem like a Comedy Nite.


The food was so-so but love the prawns n yam paste.

The angbao amt has always been a sensitive issue and was the topic of the day in office, especially to the A1s who are not earning much n r greenhorns to such things. Wat is the mrkt rate? Should we give more cos itz a 5-star hotel? Should we give less cos we earn less n r not reli close to the birdegroom? Blah blah blah.. Itz so sensitive and troubling. Itz supposed to be a happy event and i certainly don wish ppl to fuss over monetary issues if it were my big day. I'd hate to see ppl faking smiles n congratulating the couple but actually cursing the 'price' of such dinners behind doors. Defeats the purpose of sharing the happiness of a wedding. So goes back to the point: Invite closer frens.

Rushed home when the dinner is over. Jus outside, i bumped into Shuz, Vic n Ym who were heading to Zouk! Ah itz reli a pity i cant join them cos i gotta rush for my flight. N hello, itz wed n im jus 10 long jumps away!! AHH!!

Im back!!!

So much to update on my trip. Tat will take some time cos we took ard 1500 photos n def needs some time to sort out. N i gotta say my fave day was at Disneyland..



Indeed a magical experience!!!!

The day b4 i go for my holiday trip...

..begins with me waking up n craving for a (mc) hotdog as usual. I jus wanna hide in my hole n rest b4 my trip!! But no such luck for me cos i need to finish up my work b4 i leave. Feeling the urge to improve my poor reputation of leaving shit behind, i pulled my sluggish fat body to work n itz nonstop hits for me. I have once again proved to be a procrastinator when i realised my previous days of slack have resulted in countless loose-ends to tie up at the very las min. Damit. I reli tried at my very best to balance the stupid balance sheets n was left with one final outstanding figure. Everyone was leaving to attend my mgr's wedding alrdy n i got so flustered tat i cant tink calmly. Itz like rushing to scribble ur last workings for a math paper all over again. No time to lose. My snr gave me a leeway n told me i can email to her the final docs the next day. I was so guilty of my substandard work tat i din tell her i'd be leaving spore in less than 12hrs time, tinking positively tat maybe i could solve the prob at the airport computer terminal. So i happily packed my stuff, changed into a decent dress, put on makeup on my brown tired wrinkled face n became the last to leave for the wedding.

Stuffed my piggy face with food on the wedding n itz time to go home n pack up for the trip. 1hr after i reached home, i left for the airport. N here i am, sitting in front of one of the comp terminals in the airport's macs at an unearthly time of 3.35am. Damit, i cant open the excel files to continue my work. Great. I can forward the unfinished work to my snr alrdy.

N can i whine abt hw unexcited i am towards the trip?!! I was haunted by work till the very las minute n the whole day has been hectic n packed. I haven got a sec to immerse in the mood for holiday. Not to mention hw lousy i feel in my fat shell. The pix r gg to be fugly for sure. I noe i shudn let all these spoilers ruin my holiday. Maybe, or surely, my mood will take a turn for the better once i landed in my destination n shop nonstop. But right nw im jus too sian. N i cant help but to tink tat things r jus gg to worsen n i'd get too tired n old for a shopping holiday trip in the near future. Nuaing will be perfect then.

Yada yada..

Boarding the plane at 640am.. Its nearly 4am nw. Great. Im feeling better alrdy. Going to enjoy myself no matter wat shit im gg to face when i go back work after the trip or hw bad the aftermath of my pigging out will be.. Haaa

Oh ya..one sidenote to add.. colleague X msg me.

Okay i noe my skin hasn been gd lately. Reli dun understand y the sudden deterioration. Im looking like crap nw.

I HAVEN PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Normally i won bother packing for a trip till the eleventh hr cos i DUN NEED to WORK las time. But nw i still gotta work till the v las min... Im leaving on thurs morning..640am. Means i have to reach airport at 4plus in e morning. To make things a little bit more hectic for myself, i got my manager's wedding to attend on wed nite!!! So it will be so packed tmr tat id be gg to his wedding from office. Okay..forget abt dolling up..or even put on fresh makeup cos i don even have time to pack!! N no time to paint my nails n tink of wat to wear for my trip. Anyway, id be gg shenzhen n guangzhou where theives n robbers r as many as our skinny hot babes strutting down orchard road. 

The safe way to go is to dress down n cui. Hallelujah. Anyway im too fat to dress up. Hallelujah. I tink i won be mugged. Haa..

But am so looking forward to the trip!!! Finally a reli long break from bloody workplace n a nice time alone with him...

SELL LIKE HOT CHEWY...

In case u r wondering, the previous post was done by my guest blogger, the mighty gd old dearie of mine. N in case u r wondering, the lack of posts is due to a dreadful laziness and gluttony that has plagued my world. Im so whiney. But wat im lookin forward is the hk/shenzhen/guangzhou trip with dear next wk!! Finally my holiday trip is coming..

Anw.. i was on job at tanjong pagar area for the past wks. N that gave me all the chance to get fat cos a fantastic bread shop is there.. not to mention tat famous muffin shop too!!! Im always crazy abt muffins n pastries.. Guess wat!!! There is a new shop, " Chewy Junior" which is opened beside the muffin shop nw! 

This shop sells v special chewy dough stuffed with cream n complete with toppings of different flavours. I din buy them at first cos each one costs $1 n itz so god damn tiny. I rather spend that dollar on good ol' muffins. But after being featured on sunday times, long queues, which for the first time superseed the muffins stall's queue, start to form outside the stall. As a typical sporean, i joined in the bandwagon n queue for 30mins to get onli 6 muffins. Other aunties r all buying several boxes of 9!!! Crazy la!!

The flavours tat i got.. (L to R, clockwise) choc oreo crunch, apple delight, strawberry, peanut butter crunch, chocolate madness (MIA cos i wolf down immed after i got e box), and cheese lover!!


Xiao char shao smelt it even when the chewy jrs r still packed in the box n tied up in the plastic bag!!
See hw desperate she is to get out n fling herself onto the tasty dough..

N they r bot specially for the skinny monkey.. haa..though i keep stealing bites.
Im on a mission to make him fat. Cos ive put on so much weight.. im almost same weight as him nw.. Disgusting me. So its either i lose my flabs or he put on more.. haaaa




N i tried the rest, except kaya, on another day.. The coffee museli was oso great!! I noe kaya will be nice as well but i jus feel unbalanced to buy sthg which i can spread on my own using the kaya in my fridge. Itz still quite exp for a small thing like tat..but itz reli tasty n zh say he will choose these over muffins!! My vote will still go to muffins for sure though. Looking at hw they r selling like hotcakes, or hot chewy, or watever u call it, its reli a gd biz idea to set up a pastry shop!!! Jus look at the muffins/donuts craze these days.. N nw chewy jr.. I neva see them stop to take a break for a second.. cos the orders keep coming in!!! 

I wan to learn baking!!! Maybe i can do this too??? haaa..

PHANTOM

Caught the world-class musical theatre production: The Phantom of the Opera, last saturday evening (19th May). To anyone who hasnt caught it yet, it's too late now.. The last show ended on the 20th May. Well, you can always wait a few years for it to return to Singapore.. Heheheh!



Needless to say it was a fantastic musical production that deserved the accolades and awards it has received throughout the years! The cast, sets and costumes were all outstanding, but it was the music and singing that proved unforgettable! 

Before the show started we walked around the area, posing around and taking some pictures:

The Fullerton Hotel is quite nicely lit-up in the evening, so i couldn't resist taking a photo of my nice dear with the nicely lit-up Fullerton! :P

As we reached the Esplanade about an hour before the show, we had some time to spare. I didn't want to spend our time walking around aimlessly, so we went Häagen-Dazs to grab an ice-cream snack! We ordered the Swiss Sunrise where we chose the flavours for the 3 scoops of ice-cream. I forgot what flavours we picked, think it was banana caramel, Choc fudge and choc-something. The ice-cream was nice, but it was the delicious apple pie that really stood out! Too bad the amount of pie given was pathetic and barely enough (as usual).



When we were done, we headed straight to the theatre reception area and went in to mill around and take some photos again before going into the theatre. There were lots of people hanging around the souvenir & memorabilia stall. The book of the cast and production costs $25 each! Still, there were many people happily purchasing the books.



Our seats were on the higher levels and we proceeded upwards and took some time to take a few photos before heading in to our seats.





Once inside, we didn't stop the cam-whoring and were of course stared at by the ushers who were extremely strict with the prohibition of using image-recording devices.  



Well, mostly the "image-recording device" was aimed at us, plus we took a picture of the stage only.



Overall, the show was very entertaining and have nothing much to complain about, except for an unpleasant event during the interval. 

When the interval came, we decided to stay in our seats instead of going out to stretch our legs. Then, an usher, a middle-aged uncle, came over to around my general seating area, looked around, and looked at me before telling me that camera flashes were observed in my vincinity. He then warned me that "eviction" would take place if i did not stop. Needless to say i was quite angry and irritated by the fact the usher would happily presume that I was the culprit (when there were plenty of other camera-trigger-happy people around me he could have told off), stupidly firing off camera flashes for him to see so he could come over and have interesting conversations with me. Then again, i know he was just doing his job and calmly explained to him that I had NEVER used any camera flashes and he was welcomed to check my camera for any photos that had evidence of camera flashes in them. Of course, at that point of time, all the usher could do was reiterate his warnings, though in a less convicted way as he did before. 

The next time i go for theatre production shows at the Esplanade, I have to remind myself to get out to stretch my legs during the interval.

THE OFF-PEAK PARTY

Egg Yolk has been trying hard to improve its welfare to make more ppl stay n have more egg yolks. So last wk a 'party' was held at st james Tiger Live pub to sorta 'celebrate' the apparent off-peak season. But in fact, many r complaining there isnt any 'off-peak' at all n they were too bz to go there for the free food n booze. In my case, by the time i settled some work n etc n reached there, the freeflow n food ended!!!!! Hw OFF is tat!!! Totally no mood n too sober for anything. Headed home after ard 2hrs plus of aimless mingling n walking ard all in the name of burning calories.

We have access to all the clubs there but dragonfly was fullhouse, its queue was horrible and the rest of the clubs r crap.


But there was this outdoor area which seems pretty nice for chilling.


Still, conclusion is tat st james is not reli my type. Surprisingly there were reli lotsa ppl tat nite.. so much so tat it caused a traffic jam at the main road.

Have u felt like a loser for mths n almost everything has been bumpy n sucky? Well i am gg thru this nw. Life has been sucky since after i started work. Ive put on 5kg (n counting. i duno y this round of weight gain is so UNSTOPPABLE.), work sux, i feel so lost, i don feel like im doing anything value-adding, i detest myself.. argh.. etc n etc. N i jus don feel like blogging. Ok wadever. Im so tired of all these crap in my life. Wat to do.. jus have to get my fat arse up n move on.

Jus some updates..

Went for e jp morgan run 2wks ago. So many ppl participated.. u can onli run n brake ur way thru cos itz so squeezy. Sweaty skin against sweaty skin. N there is no chip for u to time ur run. Std chart run is so much better. Anw itz fully subsidized n i get a free jersey. So e complaints shall end here.

But my newly bot track shoes r stained by the mud!!! Have been wearing tat to cali gym all these while so not a stain thus far. Nw the clean record has been broken.


Went for some cake n pie @ Secret Recipe after the run. End up overall surplus of calories. Anw the 5.6km run onli prolly burn ard 300 plus calories. So miserable.





Mother's Day (cum father's bday) was celebrated at the miramar hotel's dim sum buffet. A treat by me n my sis. But it was a wrong move to bring the folks there cos the food is too oily n unhealthy n e quality of food is onli so-so. It was my suggestion. My bad. Conclusion: quality triumph over quantity.

But act i love all the fried n prawny food..
Esp the fried prawn fritters!!


The nice mango pudding.. yumz.


Eating with ppl other than the china gang (excl. ah meng) onli make me realise hw big my appettite is.
But im glad tat Hao whacked alot tat day.




That evening was spent with mini babes to celeb wx's bday. Coincidentally she was flying off to US for a gd whole 3-4 mths for her work-n-travel. She is so independent n brave to go alone! COOL!!

This reminds me.. weiting was telling me her encounter there. She called for bill but the waiter jus forgot abt it somehow. In e end she waited for a damn long time n decided to pull a challenge by walking coolly out. N she succeeded!! She is always full of weird ideas n playful tricks. The other day she DROVE A CAB home!! Hw ridiculous was tat?! The cabbie was feeling slpy after supper n cant drive straight. SO he asked her to take over the wheels n won charge her for the remaining journey. N she boldly agreed!!! She was lucky enough to not meet any road blocks. Haaa..

Back to food.
I love the food there..
